202design was founded in January 1999 by Mike Heffner and Lucy Pope. Bringing together over 20 years of design and production experience, 202design offers fresh, effective graphics that arrive on-time and on-budget. We are a full service design firm offering total creative support from conceptualizing and designing your project through print management.

The 202design staff consists of partners and working designers Mike Heffner and Lucy Pope.

Mike Heffner earned a BA in English from Georgetown University, then worked in North Carolina and Virginia creating marketing materials and teaching desktop publishing and design. During that time, he developed a strong freelance clientele of non-profit organizations and associations in Washington, DC—a valuable experience that has sharpened his eye for creating dynamic pieces on modest budgets.

Lucy Pope is a DC native and earned a BA in History from Georgetown University. She spent 10 years in New York as the Director of Communications for Knoll, where she was responsible for the design, management and production of all printed sales and marketing collateral. Her background in corporate communications provides 202design with a unique yet familiar perspective on a client's creative needs.
